The Digimafams are digital maf compensators for restoring performance loss due to a weak maf signal and by precise recalibration of the maf signal, often enhance the perfomance as well.
All vehicle manufacturer's maf calibration is designed primarily to keep the emissions within tight limits and this often compromises performance, especially below 2000rpm. But once the maf becomes even slightly out of spec, the performance and consumption suffer, often very dramatically....
Please note, that our aim is to improve the performance and mpg where possible so you WILL ALWAYS experience a better result with our Digimafam (+ Pierburgh maf where available) than using ANY OTHER maf.
SOME REVIEWS:
IS THIS YOUR VEHICLE?....
(or has some or all of the above)
A DIGIMAFAM WILL CURE MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE ABOVE WHERE THE SYMPTOMS ARE CAUSED BY A WEAK MAF SENSOR, AND OPTIMISE THE PERFORMANCE FOR LESS THAN THE COST OF A NEW MAF ALONE.
FEATURES & FUNCTIONS
The Digimafam uses our digital mapping technology and state of the art microprocessor to adjust the maf signal by varying amounts across the range. For example usually no change is needed at idle and depending on the setting the low, mid or high rpm ranges are altered accordingly. Similarly, the air flow readings displayed on a diagnostic tool won't necessarily be the same as the factory values because we intentionally alter them to the benefit of performance and economy. SO THIS IS NOT A FAULT!
Why not just fit a new maf? Simply because Bosch maf sensors are the most costly on the market and the cheaper clone, and third party (pattern) parts do not seem to work as well, if at all, nor last very long (some only have a 3month warranty so that speaks volumes...).
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK:
"Hi Ron , just thought I'd send you some feedback on the Pierburg maf and the DIGIMAFAM I recently bought from you
.
Now after fitting the DIGIMAFAM all I can say is WOW !!! I fitted a OE BOSCHE MAF earlier this year and that died within 3 months !!! However when it was working the ZR drove great and pulled
really well BUT nothing like it does now !
Its not the quickest thing from a standing start but that mid range surge is brilliant , 2nd gear foot down and its off like a stabbed rat !! The acceleration from 40-70 mph in 4th is amazing
."
AND ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE...
Just to say how I am so impressed with the purchase of digimafam box for £79!! My powerband was short between 2.25
and 3 thousand revs,no pull at all outside this area:-/ really bad....forget overtaking!
Fitted item in literally 5mins setting number 4 and upon start up realised the tickover was smoother, nice when you dont what to expect! Carefully driving out of the village at 30mph in 4th gear
about 1400rpm then giving the pedal a good squeeze when reaching the 60 speed sign.....OMG thought I was taking off, pulled strongly no hesitation to 60mph right through the rev range and very soon
reaching for 5th gear then coming up to steep winding hill where I would normally change down to 4th or even 3rd kept pulling in 5th!!!! My grin went from ear lobe to ear lobe, next few days couldn't
wait to go out driving again:-D I haven't noticed any change in fuel consumption at all. Very happy chappy thinking about other upgrades now! Don't hesitate buy one!! Thanks very much,
Scott
MORE TECH INFO:
The chart above shows the effect of fuelling on the boost pressure and torque is dircetly related to boost pressure as well as fuelling. This is a more useful measure than airflow readings because it directly reflects on the performance. So do not obsess over airflow readings, look at the boost pressure instead - if the boost is down its most likely due to a weak maf signal, NOT a faulty turbo. With a turbo engine, its a chicken and egg situation - the turbo doesn't get going until more fuel is added and the ecu doesn't add the fuel because the maf signal is weak. Hence the massive turbo lag, sudden surge around 2200rpm and horrible driveability. The chart shows just how poor the performance is until 2200rpm when that sudden rise in boost produces the surge often when you don't expect nor want it.
With a Mafam/Digimafam fitted the boosted maf signal increases the fuelling below 2500rpm especially, so more fuel gets the turbo going sooner and more strongly, increasing the boost (but never above the manufacturer's wastegate limit). So more fuel AND more boost together equals a lot more torque, as you can see from the chart. Now the car pulls well even from below 1700rpm though because the turbo is not a vnt type, there is nothing you can do to improve the boost very much below 1300rpm.
