When asked how our products compare to more expensive brands, our reply is:

 

"Sellers of higher priced products give a convincing justification for their prices but ask yourself, 'how am I personally, benefitting". Well you aren't, but they are, because you are paying for their development costs and big advertising budgets, not to mention the profits for their distributors and importers."

 

So a higher price does not guarantee a better product.

 

OUR TUNING TECHNOLOGY

  • All our tuning products use low power microprocessors to digitally reprogram the fuel or air sensor signals. We use 256 stage maps to precisiely alter the fuel anywhere from just above idle to max power but unlike other companies, we alter it intelligently and usually not in a linear fashion. See note ^ below.

  • So, whilst other products may increase the fuel by a fixed percentage across the whole rev range, (typical of the cheapest tuning boxes - analogue and pseudo analogue boxes), we may increase it more at low revs, or more at high revs or right across the rev range, but still control the increase to avoid smoke.
  •  
  •  The firmware also effectively switches the unit off when the engine is idling or on the over run so there is no effect on idle stability or emissions. Again, analogue boxes often affect the idle.
  •  
  • What is more, we give you control of where the increase is by  providing the 5 or 10 settings adjusted on the box using the rotary switch. So if you simply want more low down torque and are not bothered about what happens over 3000rpm, you can have it, or if you want better high rev performance for a more 'sporty' drive you can choose this, or like me, you want it all everywhere, just use the highest settings. see note below

  • Our Synergy 1,2 and 3 also feature on/off switch(es) so you can disable the unit without having to disconnect it.
  •  
  • We were first to offer a 3 position dash switch to give you a choice of 3 settings whilst driving. This also means you get two tuning boxes in one - effectively a 'green' eco one, and a 'red' sport one at the flick of the dash switch. Other companies make you choose before you buy!  Especially popular with 4x4 and tow car owners since they can switch to a higher setting only when needed and then benefit from improved economy the rest of the time.

 

Fitting is quick and easy (with a few exceptions), with the Synergy 1 plugging into the fuel rail sensor - labelled A in the example from a Honda above, or into this and the boost pressure sensor B in the photo, for the two channel Synergy 2b range.

 

^ Note: Compare this precision with cheap, generic tuning boxes where you can only alter the percentage increase across the whole range. So you could choose a high setting to get the low down torque increase you want, only to find the engine goes into limp mode at high rpm, or you choose a setting that works reliably at high rpm but then the low down increase is minimal. Its a no win situation and now you know why they are so cheap.

 

SYNERGY DEVELOPMENT & HISTORY:

SYNERY MODULE OR A REMAP - WHICH IS BEST?

 

"Your Synergy tuning module comes highly recommended but others have said I should get a remap instead. Please advise me which is best for my vehicle." 

This is a common enquiry and one we are only too happy to help with.

 

A remap involves the reprogramming of your engine ecu via the diagnostic socket under the dash. On most newer diesels, it cannot be done this way meaning that the ecu has to be removed and opened. Even this method isn't possible on many vehicles and prising open the sealed ecu on a vehicle still under warranty is not a good idea. (The ecu is also often secured by anti tamper bolts that must be drilled out to remove it.)

PLEASE CHECK WHEN HAVING A REMAP WHETHER THE ECU IS GOING TO BE REMOVED AND OPENED. Some tuning companies will not tell you, which may have warranty implications in the future.

 

Our Synergy tuning products on the other hand, are 100% plug-in (with a few exceptions) so you can fit one yourself and equally important, remove it for servicing or warranty work if your vehicle needs it and of course transfer it to your next vehicle.

 

WHICH IS BEST? 

Many remaps have more effect at higher rpm and progressively less at mid to low rpm and so are more attractive to the 'sporty' driver who is used to driving a petrol engined vehicle. For the majority of our customers, a Synergy is all you need and is nearly always considerably more cost effective.

 

ADJUSTABILITY: You can also adjust the performance and have the option of 3 settings selectable whilst driving if you fit the optional dash switch.

 

TRANSFERABILITY: Don't forget another important point - our modules can be transferred to your next vehicle at little cost, a remap cannot.

 

REMAP + SYNERGY For the ultimate performance you can combine a remap with one of our tuning boxes. The box amplifies the effect of the remap simply because the higher injection pressure means even more fuel is injected when the injectors open, and opening them for longer is how the remap works.

For example a Vauxhall 1.9L 8v 120bhp engine produced 178bhp and 400nm of torque with both and a Freelander TD4 2L 112bhp engine produced 171bhp with both (150 with either alone)

 

CONCERNED ABOUT TUNING YOUR OLDER VEHICLE?

If your prized vehicle is getting on a bit, then you can request we limit the power increase, or alternatively fit a dash switch. This is a popular option since the mpg is normally much better than standard but still with a respectable power increase in one of the eco settings, but flick the switch and the fully monty is available.

So the extra stress on the engine, fuel system and turbo is absolutely minimal and under your full control.
